The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmitz digs a good body shot into Konigshof's ribs.
Konigshof shoots in for a takedown but Schmitz shows good takedown defense.
Schmitz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Konigshof tries to avoid it but Schmitz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Konigshof to the ground. Konigshof escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Konigshof decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Konigshof connects with a nice short shot to Schmitz's temple.
Konigshof takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
