Undercard bout

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Krifus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goran Spaten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krifus comes to the cage accompanied by RAWR. Spaten is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Knockin Boots by Candyman. Hunter Krifus had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Krifus doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Spaten counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Hunter Krifus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Whack! Spaten lands a heavy head kick that drops Krifus. The ref tackles Spaten to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Krifus was done.

Mursu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fragonard avoids it really well and circles away.
A jab from Fragonard misses.
Fragonard throws a lazy right hand but Mursu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mursu shoots in but Fragonard avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Fragonard slaps away a takedown attempt from Mursu, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Agilulfe Fragonard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ilkka Mursu.

Fragonard feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A telegraphed right hand from Woitek misses the target.
Woitek misses with a few strikes there.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Woitek enables Liege to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Woitek manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Liege drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Liege seems to have locked his on tight now - Woitek screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Liege, as he picks up the win!
