towles has an Americana. Miller didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! towles is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if towles hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cleon Base!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Verelea!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Base is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

It looks like Cleon Base has been cut.
Verelea ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Verelea with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Verelea jabs Base right on the nose. Base blinks but takes it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Base shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Verelea is trying to defend but Base finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Verelea is refusing to be controlled, as Base sits in half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Base prevents Verelea from improving his position.
Verelea moves into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Verelea wants to stand and escape but Base is having none of it.
Base tries to free his leg and advance position but Verelea is retaining full guard.
Verelea bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Base's guard.
Base is breathing heavily.
Verelea throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Verelea sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Base's guard.
Verelea uses his free foot to push down on Base's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Base.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Verelea quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Verelea but it's paid off an Base is forced to tap! Nice work by Verelea.
