Hines tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Beasley is able to avoid easily.
Beasley throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Beasley throws a series of strikes that have Hines backpedaling.
Beasley throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hines sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Beasley lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hines's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Beasley connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hines scrambles back to his feet.

Reid stuffs the takedown attempt from Zayd. Zayd gets slowly back to his feet.

Zayd fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Reid sprawls well initially but Zayd persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Zayd in particular looking to stall.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Zayd cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Reid tries to reverse the position but Zayd maintains control.

Zayd moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Reid has worked his arm free - good work by Reid!
Zayd is staying tight to Reid's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Zayd works to advance to full mount. Reid defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abu Zayd dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
