Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mateus Allen!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Martin Fannon!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fannon throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Allen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Fannon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Allen counter with a right hand.

and Allen counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Allen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Fannon to the ground. Allen is now in Fannon's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Allen is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Allen content to stall in guard here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Allen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fannon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Allen passes into half guard.

Allen passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fannon!
Allen fails to advance to Fannon's back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Allen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Allen pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Fannon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Allen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Allen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Allen swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Fannon is now in Allen's guard. A big mistake from Allen there, giving up the dominant position!
Fannon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Allen manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Fannon taking shots to the head.
Allen scoring with strikes but Fannon is staying in there.
Fannon tries to buck Allen off but Allen takes his back!

Allen has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Fannon is in real trouble here. Allen gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Fannon is tapping out! Allen wins by rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mateus Allen!
