The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danielson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bradly Danielson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Henderson checks a leg kick.
Danielson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Henderson has time to react.
Henderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Danielson avoids it really well and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Danielson tries to kick Henderson off but Henderson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Henderson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Danielson sees it coming and defends easily.

Henderson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Danielson has managed to free his arm - good work.

Henderson is working for a kimura but Danielson is defending it quite comfortably.

Henderson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Danielson is just riding it out for now. Henderson eventually gives up the hold.

Danielson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Henderson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Danielson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Henderson, into his guard.

Henderson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Danielson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Danielson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Henderson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Danielson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Henderson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Danielson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Henderson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Danielson has managed to get both his arms back between Henderson's legs - danger averted.

Henderson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Danielson has his hands clasped together but Henderson extends an breaks Danielson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Henderson.

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Al Fassak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jager Statsy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jager Statsy struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Jager Statsy told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Fassak fails in his attempt to clinch.
Fassak tries to close the distance and clinch but Statsy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jager Statsy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Statsy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fassak avoids it really well and circles away.
Statsy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Statsy wants it to stay on the feet.
Statsy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fassak is fending him off so far but Statsy persists. Nope, Fassak circles away and we're back to standing.

Fassak tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Fassak forces Statsy back against the cage and clinches.
Statsy looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Statsy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fassak defends well.

Statsy has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Fassak is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Statsy.
Statsy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fassak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Statsy is looking for a sweep.
Fassak moves into full mount!
Fassak unloads with some shots from mount but Statsy bucks and avoids them well.

Fassak goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Statsy is on top in guard.
Fassak is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Fassak pushes Statsy off and gets back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Statsy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Fassak momentarily.

Fassak throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Statsy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fassak is in Statsy's guard.
Statsy can't keep his opponent in guard - Fassak advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Fassak tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Statsy is trying to maintain the position but Fassak is very close to passing his half guard.
Fassak is looking to take a break and control but Statsy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fassak has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Statsy is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Fassak yanks on the arm and Statsy is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Fassak.

Dixon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Oregon is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Oregon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dixon as he avoids it easily.
Oregon is still on wobbly legs! Can Dixon finish him?
Clyde Dixon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eugene Oregon.
Oregon loses concentration momentarily and Dixon pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Oregon crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Dixon finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

Foster ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Foster no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Let's hope that Foster has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Meech closes the distance and clinches up with Foster, looking for a takedown. Meech pushes Foster against the cage but Foster circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Foster has control of Meech's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Meech regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Meech tries to lock up and control but Foster gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Meech has given up his back here.
Meech is trapped and Foster is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Meech just trying to survive but Foster is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Meech is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Foster gets his way!

Foster controlling well, preventing Meech from escaping the position.

Tony Foster showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
