Martinez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Coon tries to clinch but Martinez moves out of range.
Martinez has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Martinez there as he acknowledges the shot.
Coon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Martinez throws a low kick but it's checked well by Coon.
Martinez connects with a nice looking jab.

It looks like Justin Coon has been cut.
Coon tries to clinch but Martinez is having none of it.
Coon keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Martinez.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Meier as he jumps to the side.
Griffen throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Griffen is looking to clinch.
Meier blocks the body kick.
Meier lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Griffen circles away quickly and effectively.

Meier clinches with his opponent.

Meier turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Meier manages to end up in side control.
Meier connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Griffen some visible discomfort.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dmitry Nagiev.
