The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to bum rush Carolus with a series of wild strikes but Carolus uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Carolus.
Carolus misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Silva pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Carolus back to the cage. Silva follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Carolus shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Carolus closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Carolus pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Roberto has cracked Dollar with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Roberto lands another huge swinging hook and Dollar tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Dollar, before Roberto can land any more shots!

Zaremba takes one to the chin there.
Zaremba has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Souza.

Zaremba has closed the distance and engaged Souza in a clinch.

Souza jumps guard and drags Zaremba to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Souza is on top in guard.
Zaremba wants to stand but Souza is controlling the position.
Souza stays in close to Zaremba's body and controls the position.
Zaremba can't keep his opponent in guard - Souza advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Souza is looking for a kimura but Zaremba is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Souza to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Souza seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Zaremba is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
