The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe leaves Abbott with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Monroe drops Abbott with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Abbott looks back up at him and smiles so Monroe waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

DeLong bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Diaz managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by DeLong.

Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Rossovich screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
