The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thomas lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Thomas.

Thomas pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Mercury back to the cage. Thomas follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Thomas tries to bum rush Mercury with a series of wild strikes but Mercury uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Thomas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mercury.
De Anthony Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thomas shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mercury eats them both and turns towards Thomas to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Mercury dives in and grabs Thomas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thomas pushes down on Mercury's head and hops out.
