The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luther feints and then cracks Smith's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Smith down.
A looping hook to the body misses from Luther. Smith does a little dance to reset his feet.
Luther misses with an uppercut.
Luther looks for the body kick but Smith saw that one coming.
Smith misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Luther throws a body kick that misses
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Luther lands a left and a right that send Smith crashing to the mat, dazed. Luther thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like John Smith has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Luther pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Smith moves into range and clinches up with Luther.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Smith.
Luther is trying to break the clinch but Smith has him pressed against the cage.

Luther throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A decent looking cross lands there for Luther.
Luther fails to land with a series of punches.
Smith tries a head kick but it misses.

Luther cracks Smith with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Smith looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Luther finish him?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A kick lands to the mid section there for Luther.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.

Luther sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Smith's defenses. It connects perfectly with Smith's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Wood's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Djozilla has hold of one of Slayter's legs. Slayter is fighting the takedown attempt but Djozilla gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Djozilla content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Djozilla thows a huge punch but Slayter dodges it nicely.

Slayter is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Djozilla jumps into side control!

Djozilla lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Slayter down.
Slayter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Djozilla. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
