Vortex drops back, looking for a kneebar! Milnes looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Milnes looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Milnes!

Nowak connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Deathgrip some visible discomfort.
Deathgrip might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A big shot lands for Nowak! That's hurt Deathgrip! Will he recover? Nowak fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones darts in trying to clinch
and Sumrall counters with a nice uppercut.
Jones throws a low kick but it's checked well by Sumrall.

and Sumrall cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Jones takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Peter Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sumrall finds it's way round the side to connect with Jones's head.
Sumrall checks the leg kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Sumrall.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.

Sumrall pulls Jones in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sumrall defends it easily.

Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sumrall wants to stand but Jones is controlling his posture from full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Peter Jones will probably get the nod.

Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sumrall throws a lazy right hand but Jones sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jones shoots for a takedown but Sumrall saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Jones takes the fight into the clinch.
Jones can't get the takedown.
Jones goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Sumrall prevents a takedown attempt there.

Sumrall lands with a light punch inside.
A short right from Sumrall on the inside.
Jones slows down the pace here.
Sumrall on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Jones tries for a takedown but Sumrall manages to get underhooks.
Sumrall lands a shot to the body.
Jones is trying to pull guard but Sumrall has him pressed against the cage.

Sumrall escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sumrall closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Jones out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
