Cole throws a head kick that half lands.

Martin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Cole throws a powerful right kick. Martin tried to block low but the kick was high! Martin was taken right off of his feet! Cole jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pein shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pierce as he jumps to the side.

Pein has hold of one of Pierce's legs. Pierce is fighting the takedown attempt but Pein gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pierce wants to sweep but no luck.

Makarov feints a jab promting Nifontov to slip. Makarov then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nifontov slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Nifontov shoots for a double leg takedown but Makarov sprawls well. He's pushed Nifontov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
