The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua tries to clinch up but Garz circles away and keeps his distance.
Garz throws a series of punches but Rua avoids them all with ease.
Rua shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Garz sprawls well. Garz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rua gets slowly back to his feet.
Rua takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Garz throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rua avoids a punch combination nicely.

Rua gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Garz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rua slips a jab and a cross from Garz.
Garz misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rua fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Garz moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rua dodges the punch combination from Garz.
Garz looks to land a combination. Rua sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Fabi Garz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rua misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Garz misses with a two punch combination.
Garz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Garz wants it to stay on the feet.

Garz goes for a small jab and connects. Now Garz goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Rua stumbles back but Garz runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Rua to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Rua will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Lesnar is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Crushkin has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Lesnar is looking to defend but Crushkin has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Lesnar! Crushkin pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Lesnar taps out and this one is all over!

and Mote counters with a slapping leg kick.
Kub swats away the attempt to clinch by Mote.

Kub closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mote did well to prevent Kub getting side control.

Kub is looking for a kimura but Mote is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kub to get the leverage.

Kub has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mote defend it? Kub steps over the head and cranks it - Mote is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Kub!

Benkowski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nagy circles away quickly and effectively.
Benkowski dives in and grabs Nagy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nagy pushes down on Benkowski's head and hops out.
Benkowski will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A shot to the liver by Nagy. Beautiful body shot.
Nagy dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Benkowski is breathing heavily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nagy cracks Benkowski with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Benkowski walks into a straight right hand from Nagy.

Nagy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Benkowski momentarily.
and Nagy counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Benkowski! He's just covering up as Nagy starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

St Edwards takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
St Edwards seems to have got his legs back now.
Louis lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
A lazy left from Louis finds it's target.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! St Edwards crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Louis - the referee stops the clock and St Edwards gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Louis. St Edwards manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Louis is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! St Edwards had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Louis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
St Edwards takes one to the side of the head.
Louis moves into range and connects with a jab.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
