That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Putnel.

Howard thows a body kick. Adelante tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Howard turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Howard lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Adelante thows a body shot but no joy.
Horrible takedown by Adelante or perhaps it was just good defense by Howard which made him look bad.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Howard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Adelante tries for a takedown but Howard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Adelante looks gassed!
The fighters circle, before Howard throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Adelante's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Howard lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

I think Mir might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to STOMP!!! by The Brothers Johnson!!!. The crowd seem to be enjoying Aldo's choice of entrance music: Domination. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aldo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mir slips nicely into half guard.
Mir winds up and cracks Aldo with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Mir has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Mir has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mir goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Aldo turns into him and now he's in Mir's guard.
Mir is pulling down on Aldo's head to control his posture.

Aldo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mir kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
