I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Joe Williams was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Lakes turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Machado shoots for a takedown but Lakes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Machado tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lakes swivels and escapes.
Machado fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Yama Lakes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johan Machado.

Lakes pushes Machado up against the cage in a clinch.

Lakes has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Machado clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lakes working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Machado is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Lakes has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Machado taps out!

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nom Nomm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Burt Byrd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nomm comes into the arena with Nyan Cat blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that Nom Nomm has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nom Nomm seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Nomm goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Byrd shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nomm sprawls well. Nomm wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Byrd gets slowly back to his feet.
Nomm lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Nomm.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I think Chaowanungkarn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Muay Thai fight music. The crowd seem to be enjoying Bear's choice of entrance music: Pedo Bear. Chaowanungkarn has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
