Undercard bout

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Meadows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buddi Zoom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zoom has chosen Thunder Struck - ACDC as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Meadows!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Buddi Zoom!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zoom closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Meadows's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Meadows escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zoom gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Zoom postures up in Meadows's guard and throws a big left but Meadows blocks it.

Zoom drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Meadows manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Zoom has Meadows in his guard.
Zoom wants to get back to his feet but Meadows is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Meadows has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Zoom pushes Meadows off and scrambles back to his feet.

Meadows manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Zoom on his heels. He'll look to pass Zoom's guard now, I'm sure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zoom is looking to stand up but Meadows isn't so interested in that idea.
Meadows will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Meadows tries to free his leg and advance position but Zoom is retaining full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zoom has his feet on Meadows's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Jack Meadows has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Buddi Zoom.
Meadows throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zoom's waist but Zoom gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Meadows off to one side.
Zoom closes this distance looking for a takedown but Meadows circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Meadows.
Meadows is trying hard to land a takedown here. Zoom sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Meadows shoots for a double leg takedown but Zoom sprawls well. He's pushed Meadows's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Meadows will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Meadows feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Zoom is looking to stand up but Meadows isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zoom pushes Meadows off and gets back to his feet.
Meadows shoots in for a double leg but Zoom sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Zoom fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Meadows shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zoom as he jumps to the side.

Zoom manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Meadows on his heels. He'll look to pass Meadows's guard now, I'm sure.

Zoom thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Zoom is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Zoom drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Meadows dives on top into guard.

Meadows won't allow Zoom to get back to his feet.

Zoom pushes Meadows off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Zoom walks into a stiff left hand from Meadows.
Zoom shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Meadows counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
No luck for Zoom with that takedown attempt.

Meadows bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Zoom is trying to get back to his feet.

Meadows looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Zoom sneaks out the side door and pushes Meadows away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Zoom shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Meadows as he avoids it easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Meadows gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Zoom to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Meadows has his foot on Zoom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Zoom works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Meadows is looking for a triangle but Zoom pushes his legs off easily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Zoom's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Buddi Zoom dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Zoom has control of Meadows's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Meadows regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Zoom lands a big shot there that rocks Meadows but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

After the fight, Buddi Zoom was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Undercard bout

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ng Mui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark has chosen Slipknot-Wait and Bleed as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Nigel Clark is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Mui takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Mui lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Mui throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Mui comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Clark gets through Mui's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Mui lands a nice elbow.

It looks like Nigel Clark has been cut.

Mui has Clark pressed against the cage, preventing Clark from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Mui throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Clark blocks it with crossed arms.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Mui just misses with a elbow thrown towards Clark's brow.

Mui jerks Clark's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Clark drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Mui goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Mui because Clark was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

Anielski lands a front kick.
Baumann looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Anielski fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Anielski bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Baumann's head.
An inside leg kick lands from Anielski.
Anielski scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Anielski finds Baumann's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Baumann flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Anielski lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Baumann will be OK.

Nekkid comes to the cage accompanied by Sabotage. O Connor comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Parkway Drive - Feed them to the pigs kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Durden kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is This is your life. The crowd seem to be enjoying Andreas's choice of entrance music: Dragging Dead Bodies in Blue Bags Up Really Long Hills. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Crackcorn closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Destroyer's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Crackcorn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Crackcorn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Destroyer has his foot on Crackcorn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Crackcorn works his way back into a safe position though.
Crackcorn is looking to work some ground and pound but Destroyer has wrist control.
Destroyer should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Destroyer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Crackcorn defends it easily.

Destroyer looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Crackcorn has picked Destroyer up and slammed him! Destroyer can't keep hold of the triangle and Crackcorn manages to pass to side control!

Destroyer gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Destroyer on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Crackcorn is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Destroyer is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Turnham lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kamenov backs up against the cage.

It looks like Grisha Kamenov has been cut.

Turnham shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Turnham showed some decent athleticism there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Turnham looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kamenov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Turnham lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Kamenov quite badly. Kamenov pulls Turnham in close trying to recover. Turnham postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Kamenov on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Kamenov doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
