Soto comes to the cage accompanied by kill switch engage-when darkness falls. Anselmo has chosen Amon Amarth-DEATH IN FIRE as his entrance music. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Soto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

That was a close round but I would say that Nate Cruz will probably get the nod.

Cruz is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lombard can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Cruz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lombard tries to avoid it but Cruz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lombard to the ground. Lombard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nate Cruz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lombard lands a big head kick that sends Cruz tumbling to the mat! Lombard takes a step backwards and waves Cruz back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Oh Cruz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Lombard! Cruz is out on his feet! Lombard rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Cruz is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Cruz is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
