I think Datu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ridin Dirty. Cory McDanver told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! Datu is pressed up against the cage. McDanver has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Datu down to the mat. Datu avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

McDanver forces Datu back against the cage and clinches.
McDanver tries to score a body lock takedown but Datu shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

McDanver tightens his grip and picks Datu up, before dumping him to the ground. Datu manages to land in guard.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Hill!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toe moves out of range as Hill strikes.
Hill on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Hill clobbers Toe with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Hill decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Toe manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hill trying to control the position from guard on top but Toe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Toe pulls Hill in close to prevent any damage.
Hill lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hill throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hill trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Toe not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hill passes into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hill sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Toe defending well though.

Hill not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Toe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Toe is looking for a sweep. Hill is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Toe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hill is working away from the top position though.
Hill wants to pass to mount but Toe is defending the position.
Toe wants to get back to full guard.
Hill uses his free foot to push down on Toe's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Toe.
Hill scoring with strikes but Toe is staying in there.
Hill cracks Toe with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Toe slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Toe gets back to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hill is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hill looking to pass the guard.
Hill postures up and lands a big shot to Toe's brow.
Hill wants to control from the top but Toe keeps moving.
Toe manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Toe can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hill is looking to escape.
Hill tries to reverse the position but Toe maintains control.
Toe looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Toe wants to control the pace but Hill is squirming around nicely.
Toe controlling the position easily from mount.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bong Toe.
Hill throws the left hand but Toe avoids the punch easily.
Bong Toe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hill looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Toe is fending him off so far but Hill persists. Nope, Toe circles away and we're back to standing.
Hill keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Hill misses with a takedown attempt - Toe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Toe misses with a wild body shot.
Toe ducks under a wild hook from Hill.
Toe throws a solid leg kick but Hill takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Toe.
Hill keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hill is trying hard to land a takedown here. Toe sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bong Toe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Hill.
Toe misses with a double jab.
Hill throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Toe's waist but Toe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hill off to one side.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A left and a right from Toe both land. Nice combination.

Hill is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nice takedown defense from Toe. No joy for Hill on that attempt.
Hill drops his hands momentarily and Toe needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Hill just on the top of the head. Hill drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Hill - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Bong Toe!
