The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terrier shoots for a double leg takedown but Hayate sprawls well. He's pushed Terrier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Terrier avoids the body shot from Hayate.
Hayate throws a jab when Terrier was well out of range.
Terrier misses with a takedown attempt - Hayate sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Terrier lands a right hook to the body.
Hayate throws a leg kick which misses Terrier's front leg but catches the back leg as Terrier tries to avoid it.
Hayate swats away the attempt to clinch by Terrier.

Tatsuyo Hayate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scottie Terrier.
Hayate leaves Terrier with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Machida feints and then cracks Fitzgibbon's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Fitzgibbon down.

Machida drops Fitzgibbon with a beautiful combination! Fitzgibbon stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Machida is looking for the KO!

Fitzgibbon is still on wobbly legs! Can Machida finish him?
Machida feints with a jab and clips Fitzgibbon right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Fitzgibbon is sent crashing into the canvas and Machida leaps in for the kill! Fitzgibbon tries to get to his feet but Machida is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Fitzgibbon is in need of a savior and steps in!

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Holden Rosenthal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stuey Ungar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rosenthal comes to the cage accompanied by Rick Derringer - I Am a Real American. Ungar has chosen Paper Planes as his entrance music. Stuey Ungar told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Rosenthal throws a nice looking combination but Ungar bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
