The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sichev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Sichev shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Desperado has one foot on Sichev's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Sichev has taken the fight to the clinch.
Desperado blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Sichev has hold of one of Desperado's legs. Desperado is fighting the takedown attempt but Sichev gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Desperado is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Desperado is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Sichev is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sichev has his foot on Desperado's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Desperado works his way back into a safe position though.

Desperado stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Desperado seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sichev does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Sichev is looking for a sweep. Desperado is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Desperado has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Sichev defend it? Desperado steps over the head and cranks it - Sichev is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Desperado!

Carter takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Carter throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Jacoby Wilcox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wilcox feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round but I would say that Shawn Carter will probably get the nod.

Carter fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wilcox has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Wilcox takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Martin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Martin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
