The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Tocha.

Tocha gets a clinch.
Tocha digs a right hand into Hall's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Hall's gas tank.
Hall is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hall is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Tocha to keep the fight standing.

Undercard bout

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Houle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bryan Houle had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Oliver John was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Some wild striking there from John.
Houle has a takedown stuffed.
Oliver John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
John throws a series of strikes that have Houle backpedaling.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
John looks to land a body kick but Houle moved away.

John moves into range and clinches up with Houle.
John is trying to break free.
Houle could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

John breaks the clinch.
John fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Houle on the side of the head.

John lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Houle sprawling to the canvas. John follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Houle hang on?

Houle is rocked!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Houle is holding on to half guard well.

Houle looking for submissions off his back.

John stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Houle to get to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
John goes for a small jab and connects. Now John goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Houle stumbles back but John runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Houle to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Houle will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Oliver John!
Oliver John really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Canuck Beavermeat Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

Gregor is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Patterson Jr gets his way!
