Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Ismail was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Suerto comes into the arena with 50 Cent-Ready For War (Remix) blaring out of the sound system. Carver is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Machine Gun - Manu Chao. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suerto shoots for a takedown but Carver saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Carver throws a series of punches but Suerto avoids them all with ease.

and Suerto counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Carver!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Suerto misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Suerto has control of Carver's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Carver regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Carver is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

That was a close round but I would say that Janhino Suerto will probably get the nod.
