The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huergh shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Van Braam defends it nicely.

Huergh throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Van Braam tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Huergh is in Van Braam's guard.

Jakynov takes a swing at Adams's ribcage but misses.
Adams has a takedown stuffed.

Jakynov feints and as Adams raises his hands in defense, Jakynov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jakynov is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Jakynov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Adams's guard.
Adams could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ivben Jakynov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Jakynov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Adams defends well.

Jakynov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jakynov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Adams seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Adams has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jakynov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Adams.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adams looks to move to half guard but instead Jakynov has passed into mount! Damn!

A swing and a miss from Stegnin.
Stegnin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tas as he avoids it easily.
Tas takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Stegnin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tas lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Stegnin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tas on his heels. He'll look to pass Tas's guard now, I'm sure.

Tas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stegnin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Tas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Tas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stegnin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stegnin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A relieved looking Kirill Stegnin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

Undercard bout

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Inglorious Bastard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krzysiu Jarzyna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krzysiu Jarzyna struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 187.9lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Krzysiu Jarzyna told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Bastard is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Jarzyna screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
