Undercard bout

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Pyron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiho Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva has chosen March of the Swiss Soldiers as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pyron shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pyron stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Silva is looking for a triangle but Pyron pushes his legs off easily.

Setrakian comes to the cage accompanied by Frame By Frame - King Crimson. Davos Seaworth told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! Zhukov swings wildly with an uppercut but Oath uses good head movement to avoid it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Ra decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jordan's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ra is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Manella connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Manella as he jumps to the side.
Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Manella is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Manella circles away and we're back to standing.
Manella lands with a kick to the ribs.
A solid leg kick lands there for Manella.
Silva has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Manella finds it's way round the side to connect with Silva's head.
A lazy left from Manella finds it's target.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Manella paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Manella connects with a crisp jab.
Silva takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Manella grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Silva takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Manella cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Sal Manella gave a mention to [WAO]MADE IN GERMANY in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
