The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trikkle throws a shot to the body.
Trikkle lands with a kick to the temple. Prime shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Rodimus Prime has been cut.
Trikkle pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Trikkle misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Prime fails with the takedown.
Trikkle fails to land with a series of punches.
Trikkle tries to clinch but Prime is having none of it.
An inside leg kick lands from Trikkle.
Prime looks gassed!
Prime circles away from the clinch attempt

and Prime counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Trikkle is looking to stand up but Prime isn't so interested in that idea.

Prime postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Trikkle is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Prime, into his guard.

Prime slips a jab and a cross from Trikkle.
Trikkle tries to clinch up but Prime circles away and keeps his distance.

Prime closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Trikkle tries to kick Prime off but Prime keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Trikkle trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Prime is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Trikkle is just riding it out for now. Prime eventually gives up the hold.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Prime accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Oh, another knee lands and Prime is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Prime doesn't seem to be complaining.

Patino throws a jab but it's blocked by Kiuga.
Kiuga lands a jab to Patino's midsection.

and Kiuga makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Patino tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kiuga swivels and escapes.
Patino changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kiuga tries to avoid it but Patino manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kiuga to the ground. Kiuga escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodrigo Patino. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Oh Patino is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kiuga digs a good hook to Patino's body.

Patino walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Patino limp body while Kiuga jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!

Palowunu has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Vincent is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Palowunu.
