The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stark throws a lazy right hand but Popov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stark cracks Popov with an open hand slap.
Good exchange - Stark coming out on top.
Stark tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Popov is able to avoid easily.
Popov tries to close the distance and clinch but Stark swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Stark avoids the head kick by Popov.
Popov wants to clinch up but Stark keeps it at a distance.

Popov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Interesting... blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
