The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Souza swats away the attempt to clinch by Wood.
Wood tries to clinch up but Souza circles away and keeps his distance.
Wood throws a right and a left that Souza avoids nicely.
Wood throws a series of punches but Souza avoids them all with ease.
Wood jabs at Souza's body.
Wood tries a head kick but it misses.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Wood!

It looks like Rafael Souza has been cut.

Wood instigates a clinch.
Souza keeps control of Wood as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Wood pulls guard successfully.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Souza postures up.

Souza drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wood dives on top into guard.

Souza is working an open guard so Wood takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Wood cracks Souza with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Wood moves in looking to clinch but Souza pushes him off.
Souza shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Wood lands a big head kick that sends Souza tumbling to the mat! Wood takes a step backwards and waves Souza back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Souza is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wood is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Wood shuts the power down on Souza. Lights out, game over! Wood is your winner.

Hennig throws a leg kick which misses Mondello's front leg but catches the back leg as Mondello tries to avoid it.
Hennig throws a head kick that misses.
Hennig misses with a head kick.
Hennig pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Mondello gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hennig decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mondello's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hennig trying to control the position from guard on top but Mondello is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Mondello looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Hennig is defending well. Mondello quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Hennig has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Mondello celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.

James motions for Hatake to come forward. James throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Hatake gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Hatake has picked James up - he's going for a ride! Hatake dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Hatake with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Hatake uses his free foot to push down on James's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for James.
James holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Hatake tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Hatake misses with a head shot.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Hatake cracks James with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Hatake has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hatake has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Uruhara Hatake.

Diogo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Diogo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Diogo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
King really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Diogo trying to control but King is having none of it.
Diogo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Diogo throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for King because Diogo loaded up on that one.
Diogo sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



King drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee asks King politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. King prefers to stall for the moment though.
King misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Diogo tries to bench press King off him but King keeps the position.
Diogo is not content to let King control the position.
Diogo is trying to control King's posture but King avoids it.
King connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Diogo some visible discomfort.

It looks like Filipe Diogo has been cut.
Diogo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

King is working Diogo over with some ground and pound from side control.
Diogo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but King is controlling him well.

King manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Diogo on his heels. He'll look to pass Diogo's guard now, I'm sure.

Khan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McCall to the mat! McCall manages to get full guard.
Khan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McCall is keeping the position for now.

McCall escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Khan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
McCall keeping moving, preventing Khan from controlling successfully.
McCall doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Khan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Khan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McCall will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

McCall tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Khan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Khan shoots for a double leg takedown but McCall sprawls well. He's pushed Khan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
McCall dives in and grabs Khan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Khan pushes down on McCall's head and hops out.

Khan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

McCall rushes Khan and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

McCall jumps guard and drags Khan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Khan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Khan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

McCall tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Khan paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Khan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McCall tries to avoid it but Khan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McCall to the ground. McCall escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

McCall shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Khan as he avoids it easily.
McCall tries to close the distance and clinch up but Khan swats him away and circles back towards the center.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marko Khan.
Well Khan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
