The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steffan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vieira pinned against the cage. Vieira gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vieira throws a right and a left that both miss.

Steffan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Steffan works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Vieira is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Steffan asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Steffan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vieira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Vieira's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Steffan is holding on here and Vieira must be using up a lot of energy. Steffan has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Vieira gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
