The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald closes this distance looking for a takedown but Benkowski circles away.
Benkowski punishes McDonald's body with a nice straight punch.
Benkowski swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McDonald counters with a stiff right hand.
McDonald keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Benkowski throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Benkowski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

McDonald closes the distance and clinches.
McDonald tries to pull guard but Benkowski forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Benkowski struggles to land a body shot inside as McDonald controls his hands.
Benkowski tries to break free but McDonald pushes him back against the cage.
Benkowski jumps guard but McDonald turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Benkowski wants to take the fight to the mat but McDonald manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
McDonaldis looking to pass into half guard but Benkowski pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Benkowski is in guard.
