The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maia shoots in and gets a takedown into De Abreu's guard.

Maia drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maia jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Maia seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down De Abreu for as long as he can get away with.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pupples changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. David tries to avoid it but Pupples manages to keep hold of a leg and drag David to the ground. David escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

David rushes Pupples and presses him up against the cage.

David breaks from the clinch.
Pupples tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pupples misses with a series of wild punches.
Horrible takedown by Pupples or perhaps it was just good defense by David which made him look bad.
David throws a right and a left that Pupples avoids nicely.

and David counters with a one-two to the body.

David clinches up with Pupples and pushes him back against the cage.
Pupples is trying to pull guard but David has him pressed against the cage.
