The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Palmeri darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Palmeri is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Connors still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Connors has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Connors is staying tight to Palmeri's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Let's hope that Connors has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Connors wants to lay and pray for a moment but Palmeri keeps working.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Daniel Connors.
