The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tarus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Litwin really is a fat lump.

Litwin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Litwin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Robert Litwin.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Litwin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Duarte pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Obata throws a leg kick which misses Duarte's front leg but catches the back leg as Duarte tries to avoid it.

Obata punishes Duarte's body with a nice straight punch.
Duarte is breathing heavily.

Obata wants to land a leg kick but Duarte is out of range.
Joao Duarte seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Duarte dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Obata. That did some damage!

Obata tries to bum rush Duarte with a series of wild strikes but Duarte uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
No joy there for Duarte, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Obata lands a big right hook! Duarte looks hurt but is still standing! Obata lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Duarte falls down and Obata dives in with a huge hammer fist! Duarte's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Obata runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

He's out cold! Ganso gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
