The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evens cracks a nice hook into Lighting's ribs.
Lighting throws a push kick but Evens slaps the foot to one side.
Lighting closes this distance looking for a takedown but Evens circles away.

Lighting clinches.
Evens manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Evens lands a nice uppercut.

Evens breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lighting fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Evens slaps away a takedown attempt from Lighting, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Evens scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lighting doesn't seem bothered though.

Lighting throws a right and a left that Evens avoids nicely.
Evens dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lighting. That did some damage!
Evens feints a jab promting Lighting to slip. Evens then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lighting slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Evens lands a nice leg kick that just misses Lighting's sensitive parts.
Evens cracks Lighting with a right hand to the side of the head.
Lighting takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nice uppercut lands for Evens. That snapped Lighting's head back.

Lighting is rocked!
The fighters circle, before Evens throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Lighting's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Evens lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Machado doesn't manage to clinch there - McPuncherson circles away.
Punchy McPuncherson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McPuncherson stuns Machado with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
McPuncherson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Machado was well out of range. Poor timing from McPuncherson.
Machado throws a right hand that McPuncherson ducks under and follows up with a left that McPuncherson also avoids with ease.
Machado takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Machado takes a swing at McPuncherson's ribcage but misses.
The fighters circle momentarily. Machado darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Machado. McPuncherson does a little dance to reset his feet.
McPuncherson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Machado manages to avoid it.
Machado avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Machado lands with a nice combination. McPuncherson backs away looking to recover.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Pleasures crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kit - the referee stops the clock and Pleasures gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kit. Pleasures manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Buakaw Kit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pleasures misses with a body shot.
Kit throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kit turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Kit feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pleasuress jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

It looks like John Pleasures has been cut.
Kit moves out of range as Pleasures strikes.
Kit ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pleasures moves away.
Pleasures misses with a hook. Kit ducked under it nicely.

Oh Pleasures is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Pleasures drops his hands momentarily. Kit doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Pleasures staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Pleasures doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Slaughter tries to close the distance and clinch but Simpson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Slaughter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Simpson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Simpson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Slaughter sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Slice changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Savage tries to avoid it but Slice manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Savage to the ground. Savage escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Slice uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Savage.

Savage looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Savage throws a right and a left that both miss.
Savage throws a right and a left that Slice avoids nicely.
Savage missing with a left hand there. Slice was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
