The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lam enables Octavius to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lam manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Octavius wants to control from the top but Lam keeps moving.
Octavius throws a big elbow that misses.
Octavius won't allow Lam to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Octavius throws an elbow that misses. Lam uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Octavius's guard. Nice move by Lam!

Octavius is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lam defends well.

Lam is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Lam cracks Octavius with a solid left hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lam is sitting in close to Octavius's body. Octavius has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lam is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lam is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Octavius.

Lonzo shoots in for a takedown but Hoffman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lonzo wants to clinch.

Lonzo closes the distance and clinches.
Hoffman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lonzo smiles and moves away.
Lonzo checks the leg kick nicely there.
Nice straight punches there by Hoffman. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hoffman.
Lonzo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hoffman swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

It looks like Jimmy might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
