The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brawler closes the distance and clinches.
Workman lands with a short head shot on the inside.
A nice left hand lands by Workman.
Workman works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Brawler throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Workman lands a right hand that snaps the head of Brawler backwards.
Workman avoiding damage as Brawler throws knees to the body.
Workman works on Brawler's body with a couple of short punches.
Workman lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Brawler or not.
Brawler looks gassed!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brawler throws an elbow that misses.
Workman lands a nice uppercut.
Workman lands a shot to the body.
Workman lands a body punch.
Workman is working Brawler over against the ropes.
Nice body punch from Workman - that landed with a thud.
Workman pushes Brawler back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch.

Workman has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Brawler is trying to keep an underhook but Workman manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Workman stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Brawler to get to his feet.

Workman drops Brawler with a beautiful combination! Brawler stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Workman is looking for the KO!

It looks like Brooklyn Brawler has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Workman seems to be stalking Brawler here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Brawler drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!

Payne scores with a hook to the body. Sky takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Sky tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Payne scores with a crisp jab that stopped Sky in his tracks.
Sky gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Payne.
Payne moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Payne scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Sky is rocked!
Sky tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sky takes one to the side of the head.
Sky is still on wobbly legs! Can Payne finish him?
Payne clobbers Sky with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Payne fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sky seems to have recovered his senses.
Payne connects with a single shot there.
Donk. Payne catches Sky right on the button with a cross.
Sky lands a front kick.
Payne lands with a shot to the body.
Payne fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Payne cracks Sky with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.

Payne avoids the head kick by Sky.
Payne lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Justin Payne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice straight punches there by Payne. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Payne.

Payne changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Payne sends Sky crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Payne is motioning to the referee to let Sky up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Payne steps in with a hook that catches Sky right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Payne follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Sky looks absolutely devastated.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maka tries to score a power double leg takedown but Blaze sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maka somewhat.
Blaze tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Maka decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blaze's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Maka content to stall in guard here.
Maka won't allow Blaze to get back to his feet.

Maka gets to his feet - Blaze follows without any prompting.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Blaze enables Maka to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Blaze manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maka lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Maka decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Johnny Blaze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blaze shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maka but Maka pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Maka counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Maka slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Blaze really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Maka gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Blaze leaves Maka with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Maka fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Blaze has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Blaze misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Maka closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Blaze quickly recovers to half guard.
Maka uses his free foot to push down on Blaze's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Blaze.

Maka gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Maka looking to score a takedown here. Blaze is defending well but Maka drives through and ends up in Blaze's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Maka closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Maka is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Blaze is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Tomas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Posey manages to get himself to full guard.
Posey wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
