On his way into the cage it seems that Johnny Severn has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Johnny Severn seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Severn enables Monson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Severn manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Monson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Frank Monson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Severn throws a sloppy head kick and Monson moves out of range easily.
Monson circles away from the clinch attempt.

Monson drives through with a takedown into Severn's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Monson throws a strike but Severn rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Monson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Severn was covering up waiting for the punch and Monson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Severn has his foot on Monson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Monson works his way back into a safe position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fresco kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Nas; New York State of mind. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Donk. Fresco catches Borcov right on the button with a cross.
Fresco scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Borcov tries to clinch up.
Borcov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fresco paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Borcov keeps Fresco at a distance using the push kick.
Borcov throws a body kick the misses
and Borcov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fresco avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Borcov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fresco but Fresco pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Borcov doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Borcov tries to close the distance and clinch but Fresco swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fresco cracks Borcov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Borcov tries to clinch up but Fresco circles away and keeps his distance.
Fresco cracks Borcov on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Borcov falls backwards against the cage. Fresco follows up with more strikes that drop Borcov to his knees. Fresco keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Borcov! This one is all over!

Thompson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Anka can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Anka reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Anka taps out! Nice BJJ there by Thompson!

That was a close second round but I would say that Andrew Benoit will probably get the nod.

Kain is looking to reverse the position.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kain enables Benoit to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kain manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kain is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Benoit tries to get to full guard but Kain has control of the leg.

Kain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Benoit swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Benoit wriggles free and stands up.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sanpan Fitz!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacare misses with a jab, cross combination.
Fitz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Jacare scores with a hook to the body. Fitz takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Fitz doesn't manage to clinch there - Jacare circles away.
Fitz takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Jacare drops Fitz with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Fitz looks back up at him and smiles so Jacare waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Fitz is rocked!

It looks like Sanpan Fitz has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jacare feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Fitz crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Romero Jacare!
