The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yeboah lands a left and a right that send Mies crashing to the mat, dazed. Yeboah thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Pieni Mies has been cut.
Yeboah shoots in for a double leg but Mies sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Yeboah jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mies walks away with a smile on his face. Yeboah gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Mies feints a jab promting Yeboah to slip. Mies then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Yeboah slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Mies ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Mies shoots in for a takedown but Yeboah shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mies looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mies has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Yeboah is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mies.
