The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zawada keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Vega gets a takedown into half guard.
Zawada tries to roll over but Vega keeps him under control.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vitor Vega.

Waters takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Waters stops Allen from getting back to his feet.

Allen has one foot on Waters's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Allen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Waters looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Allen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Waters keeps working.
Waters has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Waters tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Allen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Allen is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Waters gets his way!

Plezts shoots in for a double leg but Harley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bull Harley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Plezts.
Plezts changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Harley tries to avoid it but Plezts manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Harley to the ground. Harley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Daniel Maia.
