The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hartin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bateman moves away.
Bateman moves out of range of the strikes.
Bateman tries to clinch there but Hartin circles away.
Hartin throws a front kick aimed at Bateman's knee but Bateman avoids it well.
Bateman jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bateman keeps the fight on the outside.
Hartin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hartin tries a head kick but it misses.
Hartin clobbers Bateman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Bateman throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Hartin throws a right and a left that Bateman avoids nicely.
Bateman scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bateman slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Babineaux changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brasil tries to avoid it but Babineaux manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brasil to the ground. Brasil escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Brasil looks for the body kick but Babineaux saw that one coming.
Babineaux lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Babineaux fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Brasil is out of range.
Babineaux shoots for a takedown but Brasil saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Brasil shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Babineaux pinned against the cage. Babineaux gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Meridio shoots for a double leg takedown but Fitzroy sprawls well. He's pushed Meridio's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fitzroy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Meridio on his heels. He'll look to pass Meridio's guard now, I'm sure.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Meridio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fitzroy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fitzroy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fitzroy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Fitzroy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Meridio is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Meridio looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Meridio is looking for a triangle but Fitzroy pushes his legs off easily.
Fitzroy wants to control from the top but Meridio keeps moving.

Meridio pushes a forearm under Fitzroy's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Fitzroy is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Boose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Boose's choice of entrance music: Feel the Rush by Talib Kweli. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Boose has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Belfort.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Belfort ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Boose thows a leg kick but Belfort checks it
and Belfort counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Eric Boose has been cut.
Eric Boose seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Belfort steps into range and cracks Boose with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Boose flops backwards and Belfort dives into his guard looking to finish!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Boose has a closed guard, preventing Belfort from standing up.
Boose is still in real trouble! Can Belfort finish him?
Boose seems to have recovered his senses.
Belfort will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boose is on top in guard.
Boose is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Belfort has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boose is proving hard to escape from.

Belfort wants to get up but he can't break Boose's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Boose has his hands on Belfort's head, controlling the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Boose throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Belfort thows a left - swing and a miss!
Boose should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Boose throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Belfort on the side of the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Eric Boose's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Boose connects with a body shot that sends Belfort's belly button to the back.

Hansen sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Blacklands's defenses. It connects perfectly with Blacklands's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
