The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boran shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Boran looking to control and managing it successfully.
Boran unloads with some shots from mount but Vass Jr bucks and avoids them well.
Vass Jr is trying to escape the mount.
Vass Jr is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Boran has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Vass Jr wants to hold on but Boran pushes him away.
Boran is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Vass Jr is in real trouble.

Vass Jr gets to his feet - Boran follows without any prompting.
Boran lunges at Vass Jr with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Vass Jr's hand.

Boran controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Boran avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Boran wants to control from the top but Vass Jr keeps moving.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boran throwing strikes from guard but Vass Jr blocks nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vass Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Boran advances position into side control!

Boran is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Vass Jr with him. Vass Jr is trying to defend but Boran has an arm under the chin now! Vass Jr grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Gracie looks to throw a body kick
and Andazola counters with an inside leg kick.
Gracie throws a left and a right that both miss

and Andazola counters with a head kick that drops Gracie to the mat! Gracie scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gracie misses with a kick to the body.

and Andazola counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gracie's knee momentarily.
Rio Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Andazola back to the cage. Gracie follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Gracie throws a leg kick that is checked
and Andazola counters with a huge head kick that drops Gracie! The ref dives in to stop the fight and the crowd goes wild!
