Aha is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Murdock stalks Dias and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dias's face. Dias staggers backwards, shaken.

After initially coming in at 206.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Akihito Tatsuhiko Jr!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tatsuhiko Jr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Richards decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tatsuhiko Jr's guard.
Tatsuhiko Jr is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tatsuhiko Jr seems keen to control Richards's posture.
Let's hope that Tatsuhiko Jr has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Richards passes Tatsuhiko Jr's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Tatsuhiko Jr moves into full guard.

Richards drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tatsuhiko Jr looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tatsuhiko Jr looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tatsuhiko Jr!
Tatsuhiko Jr tries to score with some ground and pound. Richards controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Tatsuhiko Jr is trying to get an arm triangle but Richards is defending well.
Richards manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Richards wants to get back to full guard but Tatsuhiko Jr has passed into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Richards gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Tatsuhiko Jr perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Tatsuhiko Jr prevents Richards from improving his position.
Richards gets back to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Richards is on top in guard.

Richards is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tatsuhiko Jr is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tatsuhiko Jr has escaped and now he's on top!

Richards working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tatsuhiko Jr doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tatsuhiko Jr manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Richards manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Tatsuhiko Jr tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Richards goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Tatsuhiko Jr is on top in guard.

Tatsuhiko Jr trying to control but Richards is working from the bottom.
Richards is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Richards is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Tatsuhiko Jr wants to get back to full guard.

Richards is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tatsuhiko Jr is just riding it out for now. Richards eventually gives up the hold.

Richards is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tatsuhiko Jr sees it coming and defends easily.
Richards is breathing heavily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tatsuhiko Jr controlling the position for now.
Tatsuhiko Jr's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Tatsuhiko Jr wants to get back to full guard.

Richards has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Tatsuhiko Jr defend it? Richards steps over the head and cranks it - Tatsuhiko Jr is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Richards!
