The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Chameleon darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Chameleon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vasuri.
Vasuri pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Chameleon back to the cage. Vasuri follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Rango Chameleon has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vasuri misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Vasuri lands a nice leg kick that just misses Chameleon's sensitive parts.
Vasuri throws a right hand that Chameleon ducks under and follows up with a left that Chameleon also avoids with ease.

Chameleon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vasuri but Vasuri pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Vasuri lands a big head kick that sends Chameleon tumbling to the mat! Vasuri takes a step backwards and waves Chameleon back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Guetzlaff's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Guetzlaff was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
