Main event

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Calamote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Snarke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Calamote might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I'm not a Superstar. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brad Snarke!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Snarke closes the distance and pushes Calamote back into the cage.
The referee calls for Calamote to work.
Snarke wants to break the clinch but can't.
Snarke misses with a knee to the head.
Snarke has Calamote pushed against the cage.
Snarke wants to stall.
Calamote has Snarke pressed against the cage.
Snarke pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Calamote manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Calamote lands a big shot there that rocks Snarke but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

It looks like Brad Snarke has been cut.

The referee warns Snarke that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Calamote throwing strikes here but Snarke is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Calamote looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Snarke with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Still in half guard, Calamote seems content to control.
Calamote is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Snarke!

Calamote lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Snarke is rocked!

That has opened up Brad Snarke's cut even more.
A big strike lands for Calamote! That's really hurt Snarke and he's turned his back - Calamote keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Calamote jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paulo Calamote!
