Watanabe comes to the ring accompanied by "One Thing Leads to Another" by The Fixx. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Junichi Watanabe!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Guster Spencer!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Illya Tyunina and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Watanabe feints and as Spencer raises his hands in defense, Watanabe changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Watanabe lands a couple of elbows.
Watanabe thows a big elbow that misses.
Spencer working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Watanabe.
Watanabe working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Watanabe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Watanabe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Spencer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Watanabe throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Spencer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Spencer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Watanabe is one step ahead there.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Spencer is on top in guard.

Spencer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Spencer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Watanabe wants to sweep here but Spencer controlling him for the moment.

Spencer slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Watanabe.

Spencer is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Watanabe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Watanabe tries to get out of the position.
Watanabe swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Spencer lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Watanabe is looking to get to half guard.

Watanabe is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Spencer is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Watanabe is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Watanabe flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Spencer anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Watanabe and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Spencer slips an arm under Watanabe chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Spencer has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Spencer is squeezing on Watanabe like an anaconda would it's prey. Watanabe fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
