The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oxer throws a hook but Sawicki blocks it.
Sawicki swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Oxer counter with a right hand.

It looks like Karol Sawicki has been cut.
Sawicki moves to clinch but Oxer breaks away
and Oxer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sawicki loads up on a big right hand but Oxer slips the punch.
Sawicki throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Oxer counters with a nice body shot.
Sawicki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sawicki closes the distance but Oxer moves to the side
and Oxer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Oxer counters with a lovely straight right hand!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sawicki swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Sawicki throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Oxer counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sawicki thinking.
Sawicki looks gassed!
Oxer lands a right hook to the body.

Oxer drops Sawicki with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Sawicki looks back up at him and smiles so Oxer waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Sawicki is rocked!

Oxer sends Sawicki crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Oxer is motioning to the referee to let Sawicki up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Sawicki is still on wobbly legs! Can Oxer finish him?

That has opened up Karol Sawicki's cut even more.
Oxer cracks Sawicki on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Sawicki falls backwards against the cage. Oxer follows up with more strikes that drop Sawicki to his knees. Oxer keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Sawicki! This one is all over!

I think Carwin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to kill or be killed. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Carwin instigates a clinch.

Jack is looking to stand up but Carwin won't let him.
Jack pushes down on Carwin's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Jack has cracked Carwin with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Jack lands another huge swinging hook and Carwin tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Carwin, before Jack can land any more shots!

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Chiappe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Samson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Chiappe had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!
