The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera throws a leg kick that is checked
and Vera takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Vera tries to clinch but Alves moves away
and Alves counters with a nice uppercut.
Kid Vera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alves lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

and Alves makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

It looks like Nathan Edwards has been cut.
Kelly connects with a jab.

Kelly drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Edwards's head, knocking him out cold! Kelly is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

A jab-cross combination lands for Kiepski and sends Gibbons crashing to the mat! Kiepski follows him down to the mat - Gibbons regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Owens finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Rodriguez's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Owens falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Jackson anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Macura and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Jackson slips an arm under Macura chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Jackson has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Jackson is squeezing on Macura like an anaconda would it's prey. Macura fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
