The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kasprov tries to clinch up.
Thomas swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Kasprov counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kasprov.

Thomas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Thomas drops Kasprov with a right and a left! Thomas comes rushing in but Kasprov regains his composure and manages to keep Thomas in guard.

It looks like Sasha Kasprov has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kasprov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Thomas is aware though and is defending well.

Thomas would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Thomas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kasprov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kasprov is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Thomas rolls with it to try and escape but Kasprov cranks on the arm and Thomas is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

and Cullen counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Ken Shamrock has been cut.
Shamrock tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Cullen lands a stunning uppercut that sends Shamrock to the mat!

Cullen is looking to advance position but Shamrock won't allow it.

Shamrock is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cullen pulls his head out easily.
Cullen wants to pass to mount but Shamrock is defending the position.
Shamrock slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Cullen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shamrock has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cullen has managed to get both his arms back between Shamrock's legs - danger averted.
Shamrock really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cullen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cullen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Shamrock is desperately trying to improve his position but Cullen has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Cullen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Shamrock is trying to escape the mount.
Cullen looking to control but Shamrock is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Cullen landing strikes from the mount and Shamrock is in trouble!

That has opened up Ken Shamrock's cut even more.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ken Shamrock's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
