The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morrison fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hoffman manages to avoid it.
Morrison tries to close the distance and clinch but Hoffman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hoffman throws a nice outside leg kick.
Hoffman misses with a head kick.
Hoffman pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Morrison wants to clinch but Hoffman slips to the side
and Hoffman counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Hoffman swings widly with a right hand
and Hoffman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hoffman throws a lazy head kick
enabling Morrison to counter with a crisp jab.
Jager Hoffman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morrison displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Hoffman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Morrison.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Morrison looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Morrison backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Hoffman's temple! It sends Hoffman violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Morrison celebrates and the doctors try to help Hoffman!

Mann throws a leg kick
and Mann takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

A nice inside leg kick there by Mann. That's going to slow Darski down.

Darski tries to keep at a distance but Mann has taken the fight into the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Cookie Monster struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The fighters circle momentarily. Mathias darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Mathias feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Artukovic sprawling to the canvas! Artukovic rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mathias finish him?!

Mathias batters Artukovic with a massive right followed by a huge left! Artukovic is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Mathias lands a final crushing right hand to drop Artukovic to the mat with a gruesome thud! Mathias is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
