That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rauno Viittala.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ander will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Steven up against the cage.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Ander for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Steven tries to land a leg kick but Ander saw it coming and moves away.
Ander misses with a straight left.
Ander shoots in for a takedown but Steven shows good takedown defense.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Steven.
Steven throws a leg kick which misses Ander's front leg but catches the back leg as Ander tries to avoid it.

Ander takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Steven lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Steven lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Steven breaks from the clinch.
Ander is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Steven.
Josu Ander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Steven finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Steven feints and then cracks Ander's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ander down.
Steven scores with a head kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Steven rushes Ander and presses him up against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Steven working Ander over with knees to the body.
Steven lands an elbow inside that Ander shrugs off.
Steven digs a right hand underneath Ander's ribcage. Ander let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Steven lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Steven gets through Ander's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Steven lands an elbow just above Ander 's eye.

Josu Ander's cut is getting worse.
Ander drops down looking for an ankle pick but Steven pulls his leg out and moves away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Steven.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Steven throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Ander is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mike Steven!
